Cape Town Cycle Tour in full swing
The City of Cape Town has called on residents and visitors to go out in their numbers to support the 46th edition of the world's largest individually timed cycle race on Sunday.

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town called on residents and visitors to go out in their numbers to support the metro's 46th edition of the world's largest individually timed cycle race on Sunday.
Thousands of cyclists from across the globe are expected to participate in the cycle tour.

The City's mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith said the event has been significant for economic growth.
"As the City, we are enthused by the many event organisers who choose Cape Town. We will continue to play our role as an enabler for the events industry whether through funding, logistical support or regulation through our permitting process."
Chapman's Peak Drive, Strand Street, Helen Suzman Boulevard, and Victoria Road in Camps Bay have been closed for the duration of the cycle tour.
The M3 inbound, Hospital Bend interchange and Nelson Mandela Boulevard will also be closed from 10 am to 3 pm.
