JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) has promised to send well-vetted, hardworking, and members of integrity to serve in the in country’s national and provincial legislative houses.
The ANC's National Executive Committee (NEC) which is the party’s highest decision-making structure inbetween conferences is meeting over the next few days to finalise its candidate lists.

The NEC will be receiving a list of about 284 candidates who have been taken through the party’s internal interview and vetting processes.
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said members of the national executive committee will deliberate on all the names on the lists before submitting them to the Electoral Commission on Friday.
"Today [Monday] we will get the report from the list committee. Out of all that processes, it will look at screening, look at intergrity issues, and the question of perfomance because in all of this we need continuity.”
