CAPE TOWN - As the Western Cape Education Department gears up for the 2025 school year applications, parents are reminded to prepare their children’s admission documents.
From Monday March 11 to April 12, the first admissions window will be lifted and only applications for Grade 1 and 8 will be accepted.
Parents who wish to apply for Grade R or transfer learners in grade 2 to 7 and grades 9 to 12 can do so during the second window which will open from August 1 to 16.
Provincial Education MEC David Maynier said plans have been put in place for parents who do not have access to the internet or need assistance applying.
"We have arranged pop-up admissions sites at over 120 sites, which include shopping malls, schools and other facilities. You can also apply at any education district office, or the WCED head office, or directly to the school you want your child to attend," said Maynier.
