CAPE TOWN - Saldanha Bay Mayor Andre Truter said the search for six-year-old Joshlin Smith will continue but without the community's presence.
This comes after the community took the law into their own hands on Monday night, ransacking the homes of people they believe are suspects.
Joshlin went missing from her Middelpos home on last week Monday and has still not been found.

On Tuesday, the search for the little girl was suspended due the volatile situation in the community.
"Unfortunately, people's houses have been broken into and there's even a young gentleman who was robbed of everything. Police are not keen on organised searching at the moment," said Truter.
