JOHANNESBURG - Police have arrested a seventh suspect linked to the murder of South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, and celebrity chef Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane.
It’s understood the latest suspect was nabbed in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday morning, and is believed to be among one of the spotters who followed the rapper on the day he was killed.
The police’s Athlenda Mathe said the suspect joins six other men due to appear in court on Thursday.
“We can confirm that he is one of the spotters we had been looking for and is now in custody. We have the co-ordinator who we believe is the person who assembled the team, two shooters in custody, and other spotters who’d been following AKA from the airport to the hotel and ultimately the restaurant in which he was killed.”

Forbes and Motsoane were shot and killed in February 2023 outside a popular restaurant on Durban's busy Florida Road.
Mathe said while the motive was still unclear, police are confident that they have enough evidence against the suspects.
“As investigations unfold, more information will come to the light, but we are confident we have the main players, we have evidence supporting that these are the suspects that executed this particular crime.”
