While contestants always aim to get the best possible result and go home with the most amount of money possible on Deal or No Deal South Africa, this is sometimes not always the case.
Contestant Thabile came to the show looking to get money to grow her spice business.
She might have left with only R40, but continues to be inspired to be the best version of herself.
Her journey on the show started on the right foot with low numbers like the R1 and R50 being eliminated.
“After the banker offered me R2,150 I was so confident. I chose to say no deal because I saw that there was a lot to play for and there was still a chance for me.”

However, things quickly escalated as R5,000 turned into R150,000 and R250,000.
This meant that the amount of money in Thabile’s box was getting lower and lower
The hot seat got a little too hot and, in the end, she took the banker’s deal for R40.
Regardless of the winnings, she says her time on the show inspired her to keep her dream of running her business alive.
“Deal or No Deal has changed my life… since I’ve been on [the show] I have received so much love… And with my R40 that I won, I bought data for myself… R40 has put a smile on my face.”

“Owning my own business as a South African woman means a lot, we are given the opportunity to also grow the South African economy. Imagine a woman creating opportunities. An absolutely powerful thing.”
