PRETORIA - The African National Congress (ANC) said that it was only a matter of time until it revealed documents showing that the Democratic Alliance (DA) was also guilty of cadre deployment in Cape Town and Tshwane.
The governing party claims that the official opposition has recruited its loyalists to serve in senior government positions in both metros.
On Wednesday, the High Court in Pretoria dismissed the DA's bid to declare the ANC's cadre deployment policy unconstitutional.
In its judgement, the court said that the DA failed provide admissible evidence to prove that the policy led to the collapse of state-owned entities.
ANC spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu described the DA as a hypocritical party, saying it also had a non-official cadre deployment policy of its own.
"We absolutely have a lot of information about cadre deployment in the City of Tshwane. It's a matter of several deployments in the City of Cape Town. All of that detail is going to be out."
But DA leader John Steenhuisen has sternly rubbished the ANC's claims, said that Tshwane and Cape Town were both meritocratic municipalities.
"If cadre deployment is continued and supported in current form, it will continue to undermine the state and it will continue to cause great harm to the South African people."
Steenhuisen said he believes another court would declare cadre deployment unlawful.
