JOHANNESBURG - The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) said it was ready to formally welcome its newly-appointed chancellor Dr Gloria Serobe to the institution in March.
The Wipcapital CEO was appointed as chancellor of the institution in October 2023.
In 2020, she was appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa to head the Solidarity Fund to drive economic recovery in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
TUT said Serobe’s arrival comes as the institution works on repositioning itself as a bridge between academia and the workplace.
Last week, the institution suspended one of its deputy vice-chancellors, Professor Bhekisipho Twala, after thousands of data records were accessed and stolen when its computer systems were hacked.
