DA rubbishes claims of free fall, maintains it's closing in on the ANC

PRETORIA - Thousands of Democratic Alliance (DA) gathered at Church Square in the Pretoria CBD on Saturday as the party marched to the Union Buildings.
The official opposition’s leader, John Steenhuisen was set to present its election manifesto on Saturday afternoon.
The party described the event as its biggest gathering in the history of the DA.

Thousands of supporters, clad in party regalia jubilantly danced to Brenda Fassie’s hit song Vulindlela - seemingly sending a message to the governing African National Congress (ANC) to make way for the official opposition as it eyes the Union Buildings.
The party’s Ivan Meyer confidently told Eyewitness News that the DA would be in government after the elections.
The DA has rubbished suggestions that it's experiencing a free-fall, instead arguing that the party is closing in on the ANC.
“We have faith in the people of South Africa. 15,000 people in the streets here from Church Square to the Union Buildings. We are victorious. A new government is coming.”

The party said Saturday’s event would outline how the DA will alleviate poverty, increase employment opportunities, and bring about a change in South Africa.
