JOHANNESBURG - Germiston police have opened a case of attempted murder against a 13-year-old boy for allegedly shooting his school principal.
The incident happened during school hours at Primrose Primary School in Germiston – east of Joburg.
The learner is set to appear before the Germiston Magistrates Court soon – while police probe the circumstances that lead to the shooting.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi: “The 51-year-old principal has since been taken to a local hospital. Circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown at this stage as police have launched an investigation to also establish the origin of the firearm – which was also seized by the police.
“The teenager is expected to appear before the Germiston Magistrates Court soon, on a charge of attempted murder.”
