JOHANNESBURG - Motorists could face yet another fuel price hike in March as unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund shows an increase in petrol and diesel prices.
The Automobile Association (AA) said current data projections show another massive price increase, that is expected to push fuel prices beyond the R24 mark a litre.
Earlier this month, both grades of petrol increased by 75 cents a litre while diesel increased by between 70 and 73 cents.
The association said this increase is a result of international oil prices going up and the performance of the rand against the dollar.
AA spokesperson Eleanor Mavimbela:
"Based on the current data, 95 octane petrol is set to increase by R1.35/litre, 93 octane is expected to climb by R1.31/litre, diesel by between R1.43/litre and R1.59/litre and illuminating paraffin by 96c/litre."
