JOHANNESBURG - More shocking details have emerged in the case of alleged serial killer Sifiso Mkhwanazi, who is accused of killing six sex workers.
The State's fourth witness, Sergeant Bongani Mbonambi, has revealed more information about the case in the Johannesburg High Court.
Mkhwanazi was arrested in October 2022 for the murders, and in addition, faces seven counts of rape.
Mbonambi told the court that the 21-year-old attempted to clean up the mess he made after allegedly killing half a dozen women at his father's panel beating workshop in the Joburg CBD.
But Mkhwanazi's attempts were unsuccessful, pointed out Mbonambi.
The officer explained to the court the state that some of the bodies were found in.
"We might have a situation where the accused tied up the victims to rape them repeatedly as they couldn’t run or scream. My lord, the amount of used condoms we found on the scene makes logical sense to what we are saying."
Mbonambi returns to the witness stand on Monday for Mkhwanazi's defence to cross-examine him.
