JOHANNESBURG - The investigating officer who arrested alleged serial killer Sifiso Mkhwanazi will return to the witness stand to testify against the 21-year-old on Wednesday morning.
Last week, Sergeant Bongani Mbonambi told the court that the accused confessed to planning the murders of six sex workers between April and October 2022.

The bodies of the women were found at his father's panel beating workshop in Johannesburg in October 2022.
As the State was presenting evidence during Mkhwanazi's trial within a trial, he claimed that both his father and Mbonambi coerced him into confessing that he premeditated the murders before backtracking and citing intimidation instead.
Mbonambi fired back at the claim, telling the court that authorities never needed his confession due to an overwhelming amount of evidence they had against the accused.
"We were never desperate, so we did not need his confession. What we had was enough."
The court will hear how the accused picked up and killed his last victim, Joyce Moyo, and the rest of his victims.
