JOHANNESBURG - One of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa trial has told the Pretoria High Court how the scene where he was forced to sign a confession turned bloody as he was tortured.
Bongani Ntanzi is testifying against the admission of his confession statements that he signed in June 2020 after his arrest.
He is one of five men accused of murdering the Bafana Bafana captain in October 2014.
On Wednesday, Ntanzi detailed how he signed a pro forma before magistrate Vivian Cronje, which is the introductory part of a statement – under the impression that it would afford him a shower and a phone call to his parents.

He said he was then moved to an industrial area where he was tortured into signing the confession itself until he bled from tight handcuffs.
Ntanzi told the court that the statement that he signed even had his blood stains.
But State prosecutor Ronnie Sibanda pointed out how the statement before the court has no blood stains.
Ntanzi hit back saying police would not bring a bloody statement to court and could have tampered with it.
