Don't panic! These peanut butter brands are safe to eat...
Many of South Africa’s most popular brands of peanut butter have been recalled after regulators found excessive levels of a toxic called aflatoxin.
Several of South Africa's top-selling peanut butter brands have been recalled by the National Consumer Commission.

It found brands manufactured by House of Natural Butters contained unacceptably higher levels of a naturally occurring mycotoxin called Aflatoxin.
The regulator also called for urgent tests of peanut butter by all producers.
Many unaffected makers of other peanut butter brands have released statements confirming their products are safe for consumption.
