CAPE TOWN - Issues including crime, unemployment, the high number of backyard dwellers, and problems within the fishing industry are just some of the items on the agenda of the People's Movement for Change (PMC).
The party is being led by former Provincial African National Congress (ANC) chairperson, Marius Fransman.
On Tuesday, former Cape Town Mayor Dan Plato announced his resignation from the Democratic Alliance (DA) and his decision to join the PMC.
Fransman said his party is a relatively new one.
"It was birthed six months ago and it’s bringing together individuals that actually do not need to go back into Parliament, or to councils, or who don’t really intend on it, but have very much experience in governance, activism, community development, business development, and international relations. So, we’re trying to bring something together that is non-party political."
