JOHANNESBURG - A sex worker who said that she almost fell victim to multiple murder accused Sifiso Mkhwanazi's killing spree in 2022 will continue with her testimony on Tuesday.

On Monday, the State brought her out as its fourth witness under the pseudonym "Miss A" to protect her identity.

All four witnesses in the matters have delivered damning evidence against Mkhwanazi, who is accused of smothering five women to death and shooting a sixth one with his father's gun between April and October 2022.

On Monday, the court learned of events leading up to the murder of one of the six sex workers, Joyce Moyo, a week before Mkhwanazi was arrested nearly two years ago.

Miss A told the court how other sex workers working around the city centre were struck by fear upon hearing about the gruesome killings.

She said Moyo's sister, Grace Moyo, called her to the property where the bodies were discovered to speak to the police about the night that her sister was picked up in a white van located on the same property.

Miss A told the court that Moyo was missing for a full week before her dead body was discovered.

The State concluded its evidence-in-chief on Monday, with the defence expected to cross-examine Miss A on Tuesday.
