Arousal is a deeply personal thing and can be triggered by different things for different people.
For some, what gets them in the mood is hair.
Trichophilia and Tripsolagnia refer to hair fetishism and being aroused by having one’s hair shampooed or scalp massaged.
Hair fetishes can refer to any kind of human hair including, but not limited to, head hair, chest hair, or pubic hair.
For someone with Trichophilia, they can get sexual pleasure by seeing, touching, sniffing, or even in rare cases eating hair.
In most cases the person with this fetish will be attracted to certain types of hair, for example a certain texture, length, colour, or style.
One hair fetishist says that even seeing a woman with long dark hair walking down the street will arouse him, and he will start fantasising about how her hair smells and what shampoo she uses.
In addition to the initial arousal, it can also become a tool in the bedroom, with one partner brushing, stroking, or pulling the others hair.
“It all comes down to being safe, sane, and consensual.”

Gordon says that when it comes to any fetish, it is important to be safe and gentle when exploring something new, especially if your partner expresses a particular fetish to you.
