JOHANNESBURG - There have been more denials from an accused in the Senzo Meyiwa trial this time regarding a dentist visit.
Bongani Ntanzi was taken to a dentist after his arrest in June 2020 to check whether he had a gold tooth.
This followed a description by the people who were with Meyiwa on the night of his murder that one of the intruders had a gold tooth.
Last week, the dentist testified that there was no evidence of Ntanzi ever having a gold tooth.
In addition to telling the court that Ntanzi never had a gold tooth, Dr Thabang Hlokwa said his examination went beyond his mouth but also covered his upper body.
He said according to his assessment, Ntanzi had no visible injuries.
But Ntanzi has denied this assessment: "I want to know when he checked all these things because he just came with a small metal object and checked my teeth."
When questioned on why he signed the report by Dr Hlokwa, Sibiya said he was under the impression that he was only confirming that his teeth were assessed.
