The Table Mountain National Parks said firefighting crews would remain in the area to monitor the fire for any flare-ups.
CAPE TOWN - Cape Town firefighters managed to contain a blaze along Boyes Drive near Kalk Bay.
The Table Mountain National Parks said firefighting crews would remain in the area to monitor the fire for any flare-ups.
The park's spokesperson Lauren Clayton-Howard said the cause of the fire was unknown at this stage.
Clayton-Howard said that residents willing to donate could drop off water, energy drinks and non-perishable food items at the Newlands firebase.
"Firefighting crews from the Table Mountain National Park, NCC Wildfires, and the Provincial Disaster Management Centre will remain on scene. Approximately 34 hectares of veld has burnt, which is relatively small compared to previous fires this season."
