Meyiwa murder trial: Ntanzi claims assault at the hands of police for supposedly removing gold tooth

PRETORIA - One of the men accused of murdering Bafana Bafana captain, Senzo Meyiwa said he was beaten by police for supposedly removing his gold tooth.
Bongani Ntanzi was back on the witness stand on Friday, testifying against the admission of two confession statements signed by him.
The court is determining the admissibility of the confessions through a trial within a trial.
Five men are being tried for the footballer’s 2014 murder.

“Did you give consent to be taken to the dentist to be examined?” Ntanzi was asked, to which he responded: “No, how could I when I was even assaulted by police, who said I had taken out my gold tooth?"
Last week, dentist Dr Thabang Hlokwe told the court that he found no sign of Ntanzi ever having a gold tooth.
