DURBAN - Werner de Jager, the man accused of killing his wife, returns to the Amanzimtoti Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
De Jager is accused of strangling his wife, Liezl de Jager, to death in the driveway of their home back in October 2021.
The wife was a local pastor when she died.
The accused was nabbed by the police’s cold case unit late last year.
During the previous proceedings, there were arguments between the State and defence on what schedule offence Werner de Jager should face.
The State argued that the murder of Liezl de Jager was premeditated, saying that he should be charged under schedule 6.
But the defence argued for schedule 5 instead.
The State previously indicated that more arrests were imminent.
