CAPE TOWN - There are only four days left until registration closes for matric candidates in Western Cape who did not achieve their desired results.

The registration for the May/June National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams will close on Friday.

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) encouraged those who did not meet the requirements to achieve their NSC to take advantage of the Second Chance Matric Programme.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain one's NSC, and it should not be missed,” said provincial Education spokesperson Bronagh Hammond.

“The content is fresh in the candidates' minds, so it would be beneficial to register to write soon."

Hammond added that the province's Second Chance Matric Programme also offered free tutoring classes to private candidates registered to write the May/June exams.

"Registration to enter the programme has already begun. Information on registration and tutoring venues can be found on the WCED website.

“The programme is expected to start at the beginning of March. We wish all our candidates all the best for their study preparation. You can do this."
