The host of Anele and The Club on 947 rubbed shoulders with some of Hollywood’s best at this year’s Grammy Awards.

It was a phenomenal night for music and South Africa at this year’s Grammys.

Not only was Trevor Noah the host for the event for a fourth consecutive time, Tyla also took home her first Grammy Award.

“Something is happening with South Africa guys, we can’t stop winning… It is just a lovely time to be able to fly our flag that high.”

She adds that it is particularly amazing how South Africans support each other.

Trevor Noah emphasised that this was Tyla’s first Grammy Award after she accepted the award earlier in the evening.

“It was not even in the script… [he] made a point when he was introducing Burna Boy, that Tyla from South Africa, she won her first Grammy. Siya (Springbok captain) supporting Bafana Bafana and Dricus… it’s amazing.”

Among her highlights and celeb sightings for the evening were Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift.

Cyrus performed and took home two Grammys.

“She has given us great music… and she has just never been recognised by The Academy. Tonight was her night.”
