'People are suffering': Phoenix residents hope voting brings better service delivery
Residents in Phoenix say their lives are being severely disrupted by water shortages and want to see effective service delivery.

DURBAN - Residents in Phoenix in Durban are hoping that by registering to vote, they will be able to vote for change and in turn, service delivery will come after this year’s general elections.
Phoenix residents have had ongoing water issues, which has resulted in the loss of life.
A woman was shot and killed last week over water disputes.
Alven Pillay said that the government should keep its promises.
"We understand the situation about the mafia’s now. We don’t blame the municipality because the mafia's water tankers are to blame."
Ragini Muniappen has lamented the lack of service delivery in her community.
"People are suffering and it's such an inconvenience... there are interruptions anytime."
On Sunday, eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda and Minister of Water and Sanitation Senzo Mchunu will provide an update on progress made to resolve the water crisis.
