JOHANNESBURG - The family of slain Rand Water executive, Teboho Joala, said it would not rest until there was justice for him.

Joala was laid to rest on Sunday after he was shot dead earlier this week.

The alleged assassination took place at a community hall in the south of Johannesburg, where 70 pupils were witness to the tragic event.

The inconsolable family said that the people who killed him, took away a father, a husband and someone who served his community.

Addressing the group of mourners, his brother, Ntsane Joala, said that all the people that were in attendance knew of his good deeds.

"This place is full like this today because his good deeds follow him. From Gauteng to Lesotho, Teboho was respectful to everyone," said Ntsane.

Joala's uncle, Lebowana Chaka, said it's not only heartbreaking that his nephew was killed but that it was done in such a gruesome way.

Chaka said that they would not rest until the perpetrators were held accountable.
