Smooth-sailing as 40,000 people visit voting stations in Western Cape - IEC
Provincial electoral officer Michael Hendrickse said all 1, 572 voting stations opened on Saturday for the final voter registration weekend.

CAPE TOWN - Around 40,000 people visited voting stations in the Western Cape on Saturday.
Provincial electoral officer Michael Hendrickse said all 1,572 voting stations opened on Saturday for the final voter registration weekend.

Eyewitness News spoke to Hendrickese in Wallacedene, where he said that no incidents were reported on Saturday and they were hoping for a similar outcome on Sunday.
Eyewitness News visited voting registration stations in Philippi and Athlone where IEC officials reported turnouts of between 15 and 25 people.
