Nicolaas Heerschap murder set to be focus of case against Nafiz Modack, co-accused

Modack and 14 other accused face 124 charges related to racketeering, murder and other crimes, including the assassination of top cop, Charl Kinnear.

CAPE TOWN - The court case against underworld gang kingpin, Nafiz Modack, and his co-accused is back in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday, with the State set to continue with its indictment against the 15 accused.

Modack and 14 other accused face 124 charges related to racketeering, murder and other crimes, including the assassination of top cop, Charl Kinnear.

Kinnear was gunned down in front his Bishop Lavis home in September 2020.

The court is set to hear of Modack's alleged involvement in the murder of Nicolaas Heerschap. 

Its alleged that Modack, along with five of the other accused, murdered Heerschap in Melkbostrand on 9 July in 2019.

The five accused are alleged to be part of the Terrible West Siders gang, which operates in Woodstock, Eersteriver and Heideveld.

Modack has since pleaded not guilty to more than 20 of the charges he is facing.

The case continues on Wednesday.
