Warning to hang gliders and paragliders to not disrupt firefighters

CAPE TOWN - The South African Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association has appealed to paragliders to avoid disrupting fire-fighters in recreational parks.
Some paragliding pilots were spotted flying over Table Mountain as fire crews were busy trying to extinguish a blaze on Saturday.

The appeal comes as firefighters battle numerous blazes this summer.
The City said the scale of the fires are staggering and suggested there were human hands at play.
"We know that there's an increase [in fires] over the warmer months, but the the scale...has simply been staggering, and while the weather has been a contributing factor, we can't lose sight of the fact that many fire do start as a result of human error and negligence," said the City's mayoral committee member of safety and security JP Smith.
