JOHANNESBURG - Build One South Africa (BOSA) is expected to shed light on its 2 million jobs plan when leader Mmusi Maimane launches the party’s manifesto ahead of this year’s general elections.
Maimane will deliver the party’s action plan in Johannesburg on Sunday afternoon.
The party, which was established by the former Democratic Alliance (DA) leader in 2022, is seeking to bring radical change to the country.
The manifesto is likely to also focus on crime, education as well as paths towards building ethical and capable leadership.
Maimane’s BOSA seeks to sell a roadmap for the country’s future beyond the 7th democratic elections.
He is expected to speak on the importance of not disowning the promise of South Africa’s 1994 democratic breakthrough – while proposing solutions to fix what he’s defined as a deeply wounded nation.
These elections will also be Maimane’s first outside of the DA, which he represented as leader in 2019.
He resigned from the DA following the party’s dismal showing at those polls.
And while Maimane doesn’t have the funds he had access to while in the DA, some believe he remains more popular than his successor John Steenhuisen.
Maimane is tipped to use this popularity in his favour when the country votes later in the year.
