The President's Award for Youth Empowerment is a programme run by a non-profit organisation as part of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
Prince Edward said the learners who were part of the matric class of 2023 and won the President's Award should share the knowledge and skills acquired from the programme with others.
The programme not only assists young people with academic performance but also helps to teach them useful skills for the future.
One of the winners said the programme opened her up to many opportunities.
"I did piano and advanced Python Pro coding. I did Level 3 first aid, and for my adventure, I went on a hike on the mountains of Edinburgh."
She said having the Duke at the reception celebrating their achievement was beyond exciting.
