CAPE TOWN - Member of popular music group TKZee, Zwai Bala, said he wanted the man who allegedly racially attacked him to be exposed.
Bala said that he and his brother, Lwando, alongside a group of friends, were allegedly racially attacked by a group of white men at a restaurant in Gordon's Bay on 6 January.
He said that after paying their bill, his brother sat outside the restaurant at Harbour Island taking pictures, when the group allegedly attacked him, calling him the K-word.
"I was wondering where he was and asking where is Lwando and soon after that he came out looking so petrified, saying 'I'm being attacked by racists'. That didn't register at first, like what does that look like and soon after that five white guys were after him and this one shortish, white guy with long blonde hair, wanting to beat everyone and he was saying: 'Give me that phone, give me that phone.'"
Bala said they reported the matter to police and the man was arrested.
He's expected back at the Strand Magistrates Court on 7 February, where the judge will make a ruling on whether the media can film court proceedings.
"I personally do hope he allows the media to take pictures and take footage of the proceedings because now I think the court case has gained all the attention it has over the last couple of days."
