JOHANNESBURG - Five men have been killed in an alleged mob attack at Kanana Extension 4.
It's understood the group of men were stoned to death by community members in the early hours of Monday morning.
Witnesses allege that some members of the community rounded up suspects by beating one after another and forcing them to point out their fellow gang members, whom they believe have been terrorising the community.
The police's Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said that no arrest had been made in the alleged act of vigilantism.
"The circumstances are unknown and no one has been arrested as yet. A case of murder with five counts is opened for further investigations. The public is urged not to take the law into their own hands as this also constitues a crime."
