‘It’s fulfilling to know my work wasn’t in vain’: Top achiever at Khayelitsha's COSAT
Ntsika Madondile from the Centre of Science and Technology (COSAT) received seven distinctions, with 100% achieved in Information Technology, and 98% in Mathematics.

CAPE TOWN - The Centre of Science and Technology's top matriculant Ntsika Madondile said all the hard work he put in paid off.
Madondile received seven distinctions, with a 100% achieved in Information Technology, and a 98% mark in Mathematics.
He's one of three candidates at the school in Khayelitsha to receive a pass of over 90% for Mathematics.

Madondile shared with Eyewitness News what being a top achiever at the school means to him.
"I'm very proud of myself, so to achieve this great achievement. It is fulfilling to me to know that my work was not in vain."
Madondile also shared his plans for his future.
"From here I am going to UCT [University of Cape Town] to study Computer Sciences."
Madondile also has a message for the class of 2024.
"Start now - don't wait for the exams or trials to get intense because it's never too early but it is always too late."
Meanwhile, Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier encouraged matric candidates that did not achieve their desired results not to give up.
The MEC said candidates could also apply for a re-mark if they felt that their results did not reflect their performance.
Maynier said they could also apply to re-write the exams in June.
"Congratulations again to our class of 2023 - you have worked so hard and can be extremely proud of these results."
