JOHANNESBURG - Newcomer on the political scene – Rise Mzansi says its manifesto will not be the views of a handful of people who’ve decided what’s best for the country – but instead it’ll represent a culmination of thousands of community and street meetings as well as policy discussions.

The party - which launched last year - is set to deliver its maiden manifesto in Pretoria on Saturday.

Next month the African National Congress, Democratic Alliance and Economic Freedom Fighters are expected to launch their manifestos.

Rise Mzansi leaders have also taken to the streets to get voters to participate in its event on Saturday.

The party’s spokesperson Mabine Seabe explains: “This is a manifesto that doesn’t just speak to the metro issues that face South Africans, but also the micro issues, our community-based issues, things like mental health, things like people with disabilities, things like hunger… these are the things that matter to the people of South Africa and the manifesto is an articulation of the views of the people of South Africa.”
