South African comedian Trevor Noah nabbed an award for ‘Outstanding Talk Series’ at this year’s Emmy Awards.

Alongside his dedicated team, he accepted the award and paid homage to former host Jon Stewart.

Stewart, who handed the reins to Noah when he retired from the show, was the host when The Daily Show last won in the category in 2015.

After seven years of hosting, Noah announced in September 2022 that he would be stepping away from the talk show.

“It’s been absolutely amazing, and I found myself thinking about everything we’ve gone through — the Trump presidency, the pandemic, more pandemic — and I realized that after the seven years, my time is up,” he told the audience during one of his final shows.

His last show was in December 2022.
