JOHANNESBURG - The South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD) has slammed Cricket South Africa (CSA) for not providing evidence for stripping David Teeger of the captaincy for the under-19 national side.
Last week, CSA announced that Teeger would be relieved of the captaincy due to security threats posed to him and his teammates ahead of the U19 Cricket World Cup kicking off in South Africa this week.
This followed a pro-Israeli comment Teeger made at a Jewish award ceremony in which he dedicated his award to soldiers fighting in Israel.

The SAJBD claims Cricket South Africa have been unable to provide substantial evidence of a security threat posed to Teeger or any of his teammates.
This follows a meeting between the SAJBD and CSA on Tuesday.
SAJBD national chairperson, Professor Karen Milner, addressed the media shortly after.
"We requested the security report. They informed us it wasn’t a security report, it was a security briefing."
She said that the lack of evidence forthcoming from CSA led them to believe their decision was anti-Semitic.
"Every single time we challenged them on the safety issue, they shifted the goalposts once again and that is why we understand this as deeply anti-Semitic."
The issue around Teeger has made international headlines, with CSA being sharply criticised for their decision.
