JOHANNESBURG - As schools reopen on Wednesday, the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is urging scholar transport operators to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy to transport pupils.
Wednesday will mark the first day of the new academic year, with millions of learners going back to school.
RTMC's Hlobisile Ngcongo said vehicles should be up to standard to prevent accidents on the roads.
"With rainfall predicted in most parts of the country, it's equally important to fit proper wipers and functioning wipes to ensure visibility on the roads. One life lost is one life too many."
