Trevor Noah bags Webby Award

JOHANNESBURG - Trevor Noah has won another Webby Award, this time for his episode of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah titled Behind the Scenes.

In New York City's Cipriani Wall Street, Noah and his former current affairs show, The Daily Show, picked up seven trophies at the 27th annual Webby Awards hosted by American comedian Roy Wood Jr.

Noah took to social media to thank The Webby Awards for acknowledging his work and that of his former colleagues at The Daily Show.

In honour of excellence on the internet, the Webby Awards are the most prestigious international award. Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts, the award is known for challenging cultural, social, and entertainment norms to increase access to information.

Among the Webbys winners were cast members of Marvel's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Rihanna, former US President Barack Obama, Doja Cat and Lizzo.
