JOHANNESBURG - A protected witness with pseudonym “Dorothy” on Friday said she has made personal sacrifices in the course of serving the country but she had to testify to clear her name

She is testifying remotely at the state capture commission and no one is allowed at her location except people cleared by the chairperson.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo read an order to protect Dorothy and two other witnesses - Stephen and Frank.

Dorothy said she worked for the State Security Agency for many years.

“I have further had to compromise on my own life because the code on conduct that we all serve by, was that the safety of the state and we’re honest about our own personal lives.”
