Musicians up the beat on COVID-19 messages

While the songs are catchy, the calls to practice social distancing and adhering to lockdown regulations are clear.

JOHANNESBURG - With over a third of the world’s population currently under some form of movement restriction due to COVID-19, many musicians have joined in on spreading the message of staying at home.

Some have even gone as far as creating coronavirus parody songs to urge their fans to be safe not only for themselves but also for their loved ones in order to fight a pandemic that has brought all corners of our lives to a halt.

While we could all do with a good laugh or some inspiration during the COVID-19 global crisis, some performers have used comic relief to send a strong message about staying home.

South African music group, The Kiffness is at it again - this time with a new rendition of The Beatles hit Yesterday, which will remind you of simpler times.

Sho Madjozi also gave a public announcement.

Disney classics were also not spared.

While the songs are catchy, the calls to practice social distancing and adhering to lockdown regulations are clear.
