How 'panicked' Trevor Noah prepared for Match in Africa with Federer & Nadal
Noah was interviewed by US comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres to talk about his training for the Match in Africa event.
JOHANNESBURG – “I didn’t know how to play tennis though but I didn’t want to tell them this because you know when cool people invite you to things you’re like ‘yeah, yeah, I’m in,’” South African comedian Trevor Noah said.
Noah was interviewed by US comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres about his training for the Match in Africa event.
The South African comedian was one of the four key players for the Match in Africa event held in Cape Town on 7 February 2020 where tennis legends Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates came together, all in the name of charity.
Noah hilariously explained how difficult it was to learn to play tennis with the coaches he was given.
“In two months I had to learn to play tennis from scratch. He doesn’t really know how to coach me. So he keeps saying ‘Trevor brush the ball.’ But he doesn’t change his instructions.”
The comedian had DeGeneres’s audience in stitches when he spoke about his tennis training.
