Yengeni, Gigaba and Mokonyane among senior ANC members arriving for lekgotla
Senior ANC members continue to arrive at the St George’s Hotel in Irene for the two-day NEC lekgotla where topics such as the state of parastatals and municipalities will be discussed.
PRETORIA – The African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee (NEC) lekgotla is expected to discuss a range of issues including the state of the economy and the position of the state-owned parastatals as well as the state of municipalities.
The two-day meeting brings together ministers, premiers and director generals.
It comes after the NEC meeting with wrapped up on Saturday.
Senior ANC members continue to arrive at the St George’s Hotel in Irene for the two-day NEC lekgotla.
Among those already here include party President Cyril Ramaphosa and his Deputy David Mabuza.
Also spotted are controversial NEC member Tony Yengeni and former ministers Nomvola Mokonyane and Malusi Gigaba.
Officials will discuss a range of issues but the main issues up for discussion include state-owned entities and the state of metro's across the country.
The party’s secretary general Ace Magashule addressed the media on the sidelines of the lekgotla.
The lekgotla wraps up on Monday and will be followed by a press conference where Magashule is expected to talk to resolutions taken.
