CAPE TOWN - A man was arrested in connection with an attempted petrol bomb attack on a bus on Jakes Gerwel Drive on Tuesday morning.

Several passengers were injured.

“Four people, two men and two women, were injured during this incident. They were transported to a medical facility for treatment. A 27-year-old suspect was arrested,” said police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana.

The man was expected to appear in court once he had been charged in connection with the attack.

The Golden Arrow bus service explained that a group of protesters surrounded the vehicle while it was stationary, and a petrol bomb was then thrown through the window but it failed to start a fire on the bus.
