Sandton's Nelson Mandela Square evacuated following blaze

JOHANNESBURG - Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton has been evacuated after a fire broke out.
Emergency services are the scene but it is not yet clear what sparked the blaze.
It broke out at a restaurant in the square.
There are no immediate reports of injuries.
An eyewitness described the evacuation: "There was smoke on the fourth floor in the west tower and we ran outside. There were lots of ambulances and fire engines on the Michaelangelo side of the mall."
Several people are being treated for smoke inhalation.
It’s not yet clear what sparked the restaurant blaze but it’s since been extinguished and authorities are on the scene.
Netcare 911's Shawn Herbst said: “The reports from the scene indicate that the fire broke out in a hotel in the Sandton area. One person sustained minor injuries due to smoke inhalation and others were treated on the scene as well and also sustained minor injuries.”
