JOHANNESBURG - As yesterday marked the last day of youth month South African artists celebrated at the Basha Uhuru and Design Festival.

Hundreds of music and art lovers gathered at the Constitution Hill in Johannesburg for arts and design exhibitions and film screenings.

The event started on Thursday and ended yesterday with performances from Prokid, Sho Madjozi, and Zoe Modiga among others.

Modiga says as youth month comes to a close it’s about young people defining what matters to them.

“Knowing that you are there to occupy space and people sacrificed for you to be here. It’s a matter of trying to embody that every day.”
