[LISTEN] Jarana pledges R100k to charity if he can't turn SAA around

JOHANNESBURG - The CEO of beleaguered South African Airways has pledged R100,000 of his own money if he cannot turn the state-owned airline's fortunes around.

Despite the challenges facing the airline, Vuyani Jarana is confident SAA is still viable.

'When I looked at SAA I realised it's an airline that's fixable in terms of the ratios, revenue and also expenses. It's a national airline and you have airline still surviving today in the same market. The African travel market is increasing, despite the challenges at SAA."
