JOHANNESBURG - A suspect has been handcuffed in connection with the kidnapping of a man in Kagiso.

It's understood the suspect and his accomplices abducted the man from his home on Friday evening, allegedly accusing him of informing police about the location of their stolen goods.

The suspect was arrested while guarding the kidnapped man at Evaton Cemetery on Monday when he fell asleep, allowing the victim to escape.

The police's Solomon Sibiya said: “He noticed two security guards and he alerted them to the matter. They rescued him and they arrested the suspect who was still asleep and they then took them to Evaton Police Station where the case was open.”
