Murder accused Jason Rohde reveals details of extra-marital affair
The property mogul is accused of strangling his wife Susan Rohde in their hotel room at the Spier Hotel near Stellenbosch.
CAPE TOWN - Alleged wife killer Jason Rohde has testified about his extra-marital affair with a colleague and how it affected his marriage.
The property mogul is accused of strangling Susan Rohde in their hotel room at the Spier Hotel near Stellenbosch, where they were for a work function.
Rohde claims his spouse of 23 years committed suicide by hanging herself with a hair iron cord. Rohde claims he started having an affair with a co-worker in 2015.
He’s told the court Susan found out about it in February 2016, when she found a Valentine’s Day card in his overnight bag. At the time, he has returned home from a trip to Cape Town.

Rohde has testified his spouse became consumed by the knowledge of his affair. He says this resulted in constant arguing and problems within their marriage.
Rohde claims to have ended the affair and says he his wife sought professional help to work on their marriage. But the property mogul on Monday admitted to rekindling the affair a short while later.
The accused told the court his wife was devastated when she learned of the affair and wanted to know every detail.
