JOHANNESBURG - Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has reacted with shock to the murders of two teenage girls at their Vryburg high school in the North West.

The pupils, aged 16 and 17, were found at the Stella High School over the weekend.

A 19-year-old man believed to be an ex-boyfriend of one of the victims has since been arrested.

The minister's spokesman Elijah Mhlanga said: "The circumstances around these deaths do indicate that someone shouldn’t have had access to a certain area in the school, especially if it’s a boarding school."
